Case study overview
What The Customer Says:

Gordon Beeby, managing director of Vapour Blasting South Canterbury Ltd, said: “The Aquablast 915 Is by far the best process for cleaning all types of metal components safely and without the fear of any toxic or harmful chemicals and I can honestly say that everyone that I have shown what the vixen is capable of cleaning or what they have had cleaned are so impressed that they have no hesitation in recommending to their friends or clients.

The vapour blasting process is suitable for Aluminium, Bronze, Magnesium, Titanium, Brass, Copper etc.  It will gently clean the surface without damage to gasket faces etc and produces a satin finish which will handle without picking up finger marks and gently peens the surface so can help reduce porosity in castings. It will gently clean the surface without damage and leave a nice satin finish which is very easy to keep clean.

Vapour Blasting South Canterbury Ltd, New Zealand, recently purchased an Aquablast 915 wet abrasive blasting cabinet from Vixen, in order to achieve a great clean and finish on motorcycle and car parts.

Vapour Blasting South Canterbury Ltd started out when Gordon Beeby needed some parts cleaned and had seen the vapour blasting process completed on a local New Zealand website, Trademe. He soon realised that this was something he could do as a business and something he could do well. With Gordon being part of a motorbike and car club, he had a lot of contacts very keen to use his services.

Gordon's experience as an engineer also allows for the company to offer welding some tig and mig welding services alongside vapour blast cleaning to all of its customers in New Zealand.

Manually operated, the Aquablast 915 machine is particularly effective for creating a satin finish on stainless steel along with a wide range of other metals. The Aquablast range is designed to simultaneously blast and degrease components in a quick and easy dust-free process, which achieves outstanding finishing results on a variety of components.

The key to Vixen’s wet blasting process is that the finish is produced through flow of water borne abrasive and not by media impact. This helps to create a finer finish due to the lubrication and flushing action of the water during the process. Vixen’s wet blasting process eliminates media impregnation into the component, and as a result, is vastly becoming a popular choice for companies across the world.
