“The media is not as abrasive to our components, and we really like the finish on the dyes now! We are very happy.””
Flowflex Components Ltd, located in Buxton, Derbyshire use their Aquablast® 915 cabinet to blast components from the heating and plumbing industry.
The company which had been established in 1954 manufacture and supply products such as brass and copper compression fittings for the plumbing and heating industry.
After using sandblasting for many years, the company decided that wet blasting was an easier and more cost saving option for the business.
Gary Lomas- machine shop manager, is impressed with the results the Aquablast® has provided: “Our previous process was sandblasting. We’ve found that using the wet blasting machine with ceramic media doesn’t wear the dies out. So, we are benefitting.”
Vixen’s wet blasting technology cleans by flow rather than impact. The water combined with media acts as a lubricant resulting in a ‘soft’ finish to components.
